How GOOD was Rashad Evans Actually?

Rashad Evans had everything it took to be the greatest. The NCAA Division 1 wrestler found success early in MMA with his grappling expertise and that only propelled to greater heights once he developed his striking and began to finish fights in brutal fashion. Match this with his speed, strength and athleticism and it came to no shock that he was going to capture UFC gold. But he didn't hold the belt for very long and ended his career on a rough note. So how good was Rashad Evans actually?
