Welcome to “How Government Built This,” a six-part podcast and blog post series developed by the Department of the Treasury’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service Office of Financial Innovation and Transformation (FIT) in collaboration with The Buzz with ACT-IAC.
This week, host Jacqueline French interviews Laila Alequresh, Chief Innovation Officer at the Department of Transportation, and Amy Lucero, Associate Administrator of Transportation Workforce Development & Technology Deployment at the Federal Highway Administration.
They discuss how the DOT is looking toward future to predict and develop ,connected transportation networks driven by technology. They also emphasize the opportunities for R&D presented by emerging technologies and how these initiatives can better build a reliable transportation system that meets the needs of all Americans.
