What a wonderful song of praise and thanksgiving. The origins of Great Thou Art are from a poem written by Swede Carl Boberg somewhere around 1886. The tune is said to be from a old Swedish folk song. The song was eventually translated into English and additional verses were added.
To this day this song is one of the most recognisable Christian hymns to be found and has been recorded by everyone from Elvis Presley to Carrie Underwood.
