THE STORYTELLER’S MISSION WITH ZENA DELL LOWE
S2 E6 – How the Anti-Hero Archetype has Infected our Kinds of Stories
Follow along with the cheat sheet below, or DOWNLOAD FULL TRANSCRIPTS FOR FREE on the podcast page of our website www.thestorytellersmission.com.
EPISODE DESCRIPTION –
In S2 E4, Zena drew a distinction between different types of characters. A protagonist, which is a hero in the making, versus an anti hero, which is a villainous character that's kind of on the line, and actual villains. Writers need to understand these clear distinctions because the type of main character you have determines the dramatic needs of the story. This episode introduces some of the basic mistakes that writers make when they fail to understand the differences between these two types of characters - which is happening more often than not.
UP NEXT – Next week, we'll look at examples of how this causes mistakes on a practical level in our stories.
