WILL YOU LET STRESS KILL YOUR OR MOTIVATE YOU? TODAY I have with me Phil Barth who was living his best life as a successful Toastmaster speaker, husband, and father when the unexpected took place at camp with his son. What used to be normal activities took his breath away and he landed in the cardiac wing of a hospital having suffered what the doctors called it a “small” heart attack. Phil was told he had to better manage his stress. While recovering he began a gratitude journey on social media that turned into daily ABC's and his newest book: “Great Things Happen Every Day” – a book about heart health, banana milkshakes and rummage sales.
Bio: In August 2001, Phil Barth wandered in to a Toastmasters meeting in West Chester Ohio. He
joined that night, and has been talking non-stop since then.
In 2011 Phil finished in the Top 10 (out of 30,000 competitors) in the Toastmasters World
Championship of Public Speaking. In 2018 he finished in the Top 20.
In 2015 he finished in the cardiac wing of Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery Ohio.
The trip to the cardiac wing didn’t help his 2015 speech contest performance, but it did help him learn how to manage stress, which in turn led him to writing the best sort of selling book “Great Things Happen Every Day” – a book about heart health, banana milkshakes and rummage sales.
Phil, his wife Beth and three sons live in the greater Cincinnati area.
