If your period has gone missing — or you've been handed a prescription that gave you a bleed without ever touching the cause — I want you to hear Lauren Henry's story.
Lauren's period disappeared when she was 18 years old. It didn't come back naturally for six years.
In that time, she went to endocrinologists, thyroid specialists, gynaecologists. She tried birth control pills, thyroid medication, progesterone cream, multiple acupuncturists. She experimented with gluten-free, dairy-free, paleo. Nothing worked. More symptoms built up — brain fog, anxiety, digestive issues, fatigue, Lyme disease diagnosis. And she kept searching.
What eventually worked was not another medication, not another specialist. It was a shift in how she understood what her body actually needed — and within two months of implementing it, her period came back. It has been regular every month since.
In this conversation, Lauren walks us through:
— Her story from the beginning: how her period stopped at 18, what she tried, and why none of it worked
— The turning point: what she found, what changed in her diet and daily practice, and how the protocol addressed root causes rather than symptoms
— Why adrenal health is central to getting a missing period back — and how snacking every one to two hours was part of the answer
— The role of fruit, liver health, and viral activity in reproductive health
— Celery juice: what it actually does in the body and how she uses it
— What she now understands to be the root causes of her amenorrhea
— On losing hope: what happened when she lost it multiple times, and what kept her going
— Three things to start with today if your period is missing or your cycle is struggling
Lauren's closing words stay with me: I didn't focus on getting my period back. I focused on my overall health — because everything is connected.
