In 2011-2016, for 5 years, I was forbidden to write. My abuser would know each time I thought of picking up a pen to express my feelings. I am a writer by trade... I stayed shackled by fear and lost everything in my life precious to me while in a domestic violence relationship. I hated myself and didn't want to live. l invite you to please take a few minutes and watch my entire video. It will be liberating for some and inspiring for others.

This is why I have struggled to post on social media consistently. I have to get over feeling judged in so many ways by people. I persevered racism in my relationship because my skin was too dark for the black community in Houston as well as for my fair-skinned abuser when they saw us together.

I found solace in various animals that taught me how to love myself and to persevere. My life was also saved by animals while in Houston (watch future videos to learn more).
