With an increasing number of companies like Apple and Netflix no longer requiring applicants to have graduated from university, the question is: Are degrees still crucial for success in professional jobs? Asim Qureshi, chief executive of time tracking app Jibble, says we’re “on the cusp of a revolution” as he expects more and more employers to hire top talent without degrees for entry-level roles. Google has even created “career certificates” that allow people to upskill for jobs for a fraction of the cost of university enrolment.
