She fought for a wide variety of feminist issues like marriage quality and reproductive freedom. Her leadership and resolve were needed to stand up to the patriarchy and enforce social change. From the start of the decade to the end, Americans were ready to start accepting women as equals in society with Gloria Steinem leading the charge.
