In the Jewish tradition, it is believed that “whoever saves one life, saves the world entire.” Every parent on earth will recognize this is not just an ancient tradition but undeniable truth. And we often hear stories of Israel saving worlds. Those afflicted by disease might have a breakthrough due to Israeli technology. Others impacted by disaster might again see the sunrise because of Israel’s exceptional emphasis on serving as the world’s first responder. And others, like the experience of Pastor David Smith, a CUFI Israel Trip Pastor Alumni, see the impact Israel has on the world because of the impact Israel had in their life.  

Pastor David’s son, Austin Smith, is a strong young man who has faced more than his fair share of adversity. At the age of 24, Austin needed open heart surgery to repair a faulty heart valve. After meeting with doctors, he and his family faced two temporary – at best – options. But then, the miracle they had prayed for happened—and it was coming from Israel.
