How Jiu Jitsu Made Her a Better Doula w/ Amanda Mattar

In this episode, I chat with BJJ practitioner, birth coach, and yoga teacher Amanda Mattar about the similarities between Jiu Jitsu and the Birthing process. She shares her story of how she started BJJ, what led her to become a birth coach and why she created a business that advocates for women to tap into their true warrior spirit to find true peace. We also talk about the Divine Feminine Energy, what it means to be Empowered, the importance of owning your story, and more.


About Amanda:

Based out of Abu Dhabi, Amanda was born and raised in Orlando Florida. Her parents were refugees from a civil war in Lebanon. Her parents taught her everything there is to know about love and peace, including how to live with gratitude peace and humility. She holds a bachelor degree in psychology from the University of Central Florida and has collected many certificates in yoga specifically hatha, teen and swing yoga. She is also trained in reformer Pilates and find the methods incredible for overall wellness. As a mother, daughter, sister, wife and business owner, she finds peace in practicing mindful exercises such as yoga, meditation, walks on the beach, spending time with her two daughters, stopping to smell the flowers and training Jiu Jitsu. She is the founder of YoGi Lifestyle and Wholly Women Wellness, whose focus is to advocate for women to tap into their true warrior spirit to find true peace.
