How Majestic Is Your Name!

“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!” — Psalm 8:9.

Sometimes we get too used to the name of God. We say “Lord,” “Jesus,” “God is good,” almost automatically — like a nice phrase we repeat without feeling the weight of the glory behind it. But when the psalmist wrote these words, he wasn’t just reciting poetry. He was in awe, stunned, filled with reverence. He looked up at the heavens, the stars, all creation — and saw the greatness of a God who, though infinite, cares about the small.

Think about it: the same God who holds the universe together knows your name, your fears, your failures, even the silent battles no one else sees. He isn’t a distant God sitting on a cold throne. He came here. He walked this dusty earth. He felt pain. He wept. And He died — for you.

That changes everything. Because when we truly understand who this God is and what He’s done for us, sin loses its shine. The distractions this world throws at us start to feel empty. And our hearts, once chasing after shallow pleasures, begin to crave what’s real — the presence of God.

Maybe right now, God’s name doesn’t move you the way it used to. Maybe your prayers feel dry, your worship feels routine, your faith feels dull. But today, God is calling you to wonder again — to look up and say with all your heart, “Lord, how majestic is Your name in my life!”

Don’t let the name of God become ordinary to you. Close your eyes and talk to Him right now. Ask Him to rekindle the fire that once burned in your heart. Ask Him to restore your awe, your purity, your love for Christ. Because the greatest gift ever given to humanity was Jesus — and He’s still calling you today to live a life worthy of that Name, the Name that is above every name.

May the Lord’s name once again be majestic — not just in the earth, but within you.
