The third Tuesday of the month brings a visit from prolific book writer, TV host and BBQ Hall of Fame'er, Steven Raichlen. We talked about the great hot dog incident of 2018, a new level of hot dog snobbery, the worst way to cook a hamburger, his new "Brisket Chronicles" Cook-Book, fave summer cocktails and more. I also told Steven about my recent "caviar" eating rampage...and cured row sacks!
After Steven, I caught up with Brett Gallaway from the Steak Cook-off Association Brett highlighted some past events and their winners, reviewed the top 10 SCA standings and looked ahead to some great new events happening over the next few weeks. I also asked him about the new sanctioning bodies that have come along recently, if he is worried that NGS will encourage event organizers to go with NGS and not other steak sanctioning bodies and if he would be open to a huge grilling showdown in a few years against the other sanctioning bodies...assuming everyone is around in 3 years or so.
