What do you do when your spouse is depressed…and everything you know how to do is try to fix it?A newlywed husband wrote in because his wife is battling depression. He loves her, he wants to help her, and he’s realizing that giving her solutions may not be what she needs from him.That opened up a much bigger conversation for us about our own marriage: how we experience depression differently, giving each other space without disappearing, learning your spouse’s triggers, inviting instead of instructing, and knowing when your spouse needs support that you simply can’t provide by yourself.
