In today’s episode we’re discussing the connections between feminism and veganism by focusing on the book ‘The Sexual Politics of Meat’ by Carol J. Adams. In particular, I wanted to talk about the masculinisation of meat and how it relates to male and white supremacy. We’re also going into the term ‘absent referent’ to discuss how the treatment of women and animals is oftentimes similar. From non-technological societies to a Carl’s Jr Super Bowl ad, how has meat-eating upheld the patriarchy?
