Ever wondered about the actual value of those shiny Olympic medals? Despite the prestige, the medals aren't as valuable as you might think! A gold medal, mostly made of silver with just a bit of gold plating, is worth just over $1,000. Silver medals, true to their name, are worth a bit over $500. Bronze medals, composed of copper, tin, and zinc, come in around $460. So when athletes bite their medals in celebration, they're not tasting pure gold - it's mostly silver!


But let's not forget, this year's medals include iron from the Eiffel Tower, adding priceless historical value. So, while the metal itself might not make you rich, the true worth of these medals lies far beyond their material value.
