That's the maximum length that a medical certificate can be issued. 

 

It could be issued for one year, if you're diabetic. 

If you have hypertension or you use sleep apnea machine, it could be less. It depends on what your needs are.

It could be three months, six months, 45 days, that's between you and your doctor.

The maximum of DOT medical center certification can be issued is for two years.
