Money is purchasing power, it could be a store of value, a unit of account or a medium of exchange. Whatever you call it will eventually be an end to human needs.
Money is not based on gender, it doesn’t matter if you are a man or woman, everyone thinks about money, but unfortunately, we don’t get to reason or ask why we actually think about money.
How often people spend and think about money was Tobore and Itunu’s discussion on Dreamcity Unilag 103.1 FM.
Tunde called in from Ikeja just before the conversation started and he said that he thinks about money every day. He said Everything we do is to make money, if we are not making money, we won’t keep doing what we do.
Money has been described as a motivating factor that makes people deliver their best to organizations and businesses. People won’t stop at making sure they have enough money. Economic hardship has also triggered the desire for money, so, everyone goes out to ensure they have money for food and other things.
Lack of money could make one moody or even fall into depression, nothing will make sense to them, everyone around will see it so obvious that something is not right with them but some manage it, they play along, and you won’t even know that something is wrong.
You shouldn’t let the lack of money take you to the line of depression, if you’ve made money before, know that there are chances of making money again, you don’t have to be depressed about it.
It is usually a difficult task making ends meet, it won’t be easy, the state of the economy among other things but it can actually be better, when you engage yourself in things, look for solutions and think it through.
It might but that’s the reality in Nigeria right now, there are lots of things not being factored in that make them think about money. People need money for so many things, it is this same money that doesn’t make people look after their health, it’s not until you break down, there are lots of health issues that we don’t care about because of money. Yet, we come across health challenges that were never budgeted for, the thoughts about money still comes. We think about money every day because needs arise on a daily basis.
The thoughts of financial implications have discouraged guys from getting married, they don’t want to get committed, some of them already have a certain amount they want to make before thinking about marriage.
Michael who called in from Oshogbo exaggerated that he thinks about money 27 hours in a day. He is married, so, he advised those who are afraid of marriage to live by what is in their pocket, they don’t have to build a house, buy cars, have money or be very comfortable before they marry, but should be able to afford basic things like food, house rent, the fundamental things
December is the season when people travel a lot, buy new things, do housewarmings and think about where they started and what they have achieved. There may be some circumstances that prevent you from achieving your goals but you shouldn’t let that stop you, you shouldn’t give up but you have to re-strategize.
