Our joy is completed when we rejoice in person with fellow believers, knowing that together we possess God and shall inherit all his benefits forever. The Spirit works this joy in all believers through the proclamation of the Gospel. For that reason, John wished to visit this congregation, so that he might enjoy the mutual pleasures of spiritual union and communion.
