2020 was simultaneously a year of a radical reimagining of policing and also a year in which the importance of effective public safety became even more apparent as the United States experienced a huge increase in homicides. David L. Weisburd is the Executive Director of the Center for Evidence-Based Crime Policy and has done a lot of research into how our police can become more effective at preventing violent crime without harming the communities that they are supposed to protect.
