People often think that the 10 Commandments are God's rules for being a good person. And one can hear comments that "No one wants to live in a culture that doesn't honor the 10 Commandments." While this view of things is not wrong, it is a minimalist reading of things.

Exodus 19:6 invites us to understand that the 10 commandments describe a lifestyle of abundance living. As a holy nation, and as priests of God most high, a life built on the 10 Commandments reaches for dignity, respect, and a generous freedom to serve one another in love.
