Affluence does not solve every problem and is not the answer to every situation that arises. Charity and endowments work when the problem is symptomatic of Western greed, but it does not suffice when the problem arises from the Caliphate. But the West, driven as it is by greed, assumes every problem is caused by frustrated avarice. We think everyone and everything has a price. But what is worse, we think the West has enough prosperity to pay the price, whatever it is.
