The economic dogma of the last 30 years has turned society into a gigantic marketplace, where rights, standards and protections are seen as obstacles to profit. The collapse of this dogma is nothing to lament, but takes with it any sense of progressive internationalism, throwing many back on the outdated certainties of the national economy.
