How Tai Chi And Other Alternative Therapies Can Extend Your Reach Beyond Physical Therapy With Dr. Soneka Lee

Most of us have a voice inside our heads that can be caring, supportive, negative, or critical. Some may have a voice that draws you into a cycle of guilt and humiliation by never tiring of pointing out our mistakes and inadequacies. Dr. Soneka Lee has been in the healthcare industry for 14 years as a doctor of physical therapy. She always knew that what we eat helps us to move and feel better. It wasn't until she got diagnosed with an Ankylosis Spondylitis disorder that she discovered eating health and movement became her life saver. She is an autoimmune health coach and a Tai Chi instructor. She found that helped her get back to being the best mom and Physical Therapist she can be.

 

This week’s Healthcare Hacks and Connections, Nathan Navas and  Dr. Soneka Lee will talk about autoimmune health coaching, Tai chi therapy, and other methods of therapy that can be used to extend your reach beyond physical therapy; how to market different kinds of therapy than the usual that most people know; and how to overcome failure in the business industry in an avenue that not many people know.

  • Autoimmune coaches help clients with their chronic pain and general autoimmune disease to navigate the healthcare system and collaborate with their doctors to be able to overcome obstacles.
  • One of the things that can trigger your autoimmune disease is your environment and the foods that you eat.
  • Your gut is your second brain.
  • You should live and learn. Figure out what you need the most rather than not even trying at all and quitting before you even started. Sometimes you feel like you're already defeated and have a mental battle with yourself.
  • How responding to people about their concerns, such as health, in a unique way, like creating a post on your social media, can make them feel special and appreciated.
  • When things get hard, try different options and see if they work. Listen to music or read a quote to motivate you again.

 

Hack: There are a lot of times in the business industry where you get caught up and chase money. When that time comes, always remind yourself why you are doing it to begin with and bring yourself back to that.
