The 4th chapter, with the exception of one verse, is the shepherd's speech to his Shulamite bride. The verses of this chapter deal with his love for her and her lovliness to him. We see in these verses the embodiment of Ephesians 5:25-28 (with an emphasis on vs. 25). The Lord's churches are very special to Him! If Jesus loved His church enough to give Himself for her, how should we feel about the church? As we see from Ephesians 5 and from these verses, they should be special to us, too, and we should treat them so -- I Corinthians 3:16-17. We don't worship the church, but we should respect it as Christ's body. In these verses we see:
I. THE LOVLINESS OF THE BRIDE -- VV. 1-15.
II. THE LONGING OF THE BRIDE -- VS. 16.
