We are living in one of the most tumultuous times in history. The internet has revolutionised life as we know it. There are 2.5 billion people logging onto the Internet around the world each day. At least 290 million Internet users in the United States alone. And they’re researching products and services when they’re surfing the web—and buying them too. Over the next decade, another three billion people are expected to gain access to an Internet connection, and begin contributing to our online economy. Online businesses can be some of the most profitable enterprises around. With low overheads and staff requirements, the potential to make money is huge. As the world population spends more of their hard-earned income online, the opportunity for entrepreneurs to build wealth from starting an online business is abundant. It happens all the time – for one reason or another, a company gives up on a beloved product and gives it the “End of Life” kiss of death. The company stops producing it. It stops supporting it. It diverts its resources to other pursuits in hopes of creating something bigger and better than before. And then, that gadget we once loved is gone.
