Fear is loud, personal, and persistent. It shows up right when you’re about to step out and whispers the same tired threats: what if you fail, what if you’re not enough, what if people don’t accept you. On Day 139 of Faith for Everyday, we slow down and hold that voice up to Scripture, using 2 Timothy 1:7 as our anchor: “For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
We talk through what that verse means in real life, not just as a memory verse. Fear doesn’t come from God, so we don’t have to treat it like a command. We explore the three gifts God gives instead: power through the Holy Spirit to face what’s in front of you, love that steadies your identity and drives out insecurity, and a sound mind marked by clarity and peace when your thoughts want to spiral. This is practical Christian encouragement for anyone battling anxiety, doubt, or hesitation and wanting stronger faith in daily decisions.
We also look at biblical examples that make courage feel achievable. Moses feared speaking, Gideon felt unsure of himself, and Esther risked everything to do what was right, yet God met each of them with strength. Then we bring it home with a direct question: what has fear been holding you back from, sharing your faith, starting something new, forgiving someone, or taking the next step God has placed on your heart?
If you need a simple, Scripture-based reset, press play, then subscribe, share this with a friend who needs courage today, and leave a review so more people can find these daily devotionals.
