What Are SRT Files?

SRT files are plain text documents that contain timestamps and corresponding text for Closed Captions. These files allow captioning systems to display words on-screen at specific times during your video. They are essential for making your content more accessible and user-friendly.


Uploading Closed Captions in Kajabi

Here’s how you can upload SRT files to your Kajabi videos:

  1. Navigate to the course and lesson where your video is located.
  2. In the lesson editor, look for the "Video Actions" option at the bottom-left corner of the video.
  3. Click on "Video Actions" and select "Closed Captions."
  4. Upload your SRT file in the pop-up window.
  5. Save your changes, and you’re all set! Viewers can now enable Closed Captions while watching your video.

    6. Editing Closed Captions

    Once your SRT file is uploaded, you can review and edit it directly in Kajabi:

    • Click on the pencil icon next to the Closed Caption file.
    • Fix any spelling errors or adjust specific words that may not have been transcribed correctly (e.g., brand names like Kajabi or unique terms).
    • Save your edits to ensure a polished viewing experience.

      • Search Functionality with Closed Captions

      One of the coolest features of Kajabi’s Closed Captions is the ability to search through them:

      1. After uploading captions, hit "Save" and preview your lesson.
      2. In the video player, turn on Closed Captions or click "Search Closed Caption."
      3. A searchable transcript will overlay on the screen with a search bar.
      4. Type a keyword into the search bar, and all instances of that word will be highlighted.
      5. Click on any highlighted word to jump directly to that part of the video.
