I share a bit about my own journey and how I came to a realization in 2014 that the person I was primarily being  (a big Judgy McJudgerpants) was repeatedly placing the wrong order. 

Since that day, I’ve been on a quest to find the reasons why I was being so judgmental — and how to shift myself out of the throne of judgment and into the seat of curiosity.

This intentional practice has created space in my life for amazing people and opportunities to appear (like KJ from Tuesday’s episode!)

You can do this, too. 

You get to make little choices that bring more delight into your life by shifting away from things like overworking, perfectionism, and criticism — and into curiosity. This is where things like creativity and  fun and flow and play get to thrive.

Now, a reminder that judgment is not all bad. It’s actually quite helpful in many ways. People with a keen sense of judgment have cultivated the ability to notice things others might not. The world needs this skill, particularly when it comes to applying it to find solutions to real problems!

But when our judgment is “overactive,” we can direct it at ourselves and others in harmful ways. 

So today, I encourage you to notice who you are being. Are you being open and curious and playful? Because who you are being is what you are attracting. 

And when you shift who you are being, you get to shift what you are attracting. 


After listening to this episode, ask yourself.

• What am I focusing on? 
• How is that focus showing up in the world around me?
• What’s the next best emotion I can choose to focus on?
