How To Be As Wise As A Serpent - Masters of Inner Power

Listen Later

Matthew 10:16 KJV
"Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."

Seven Reasons Why Serpents Are Considered Wise
1.Serpents are considered to be wise because they have multiplied and flourished more than any other wild animal.
2. Serpents are considered to be wise because they have continued to exist in an ever-modernising world. You will notice that many wild animals are becoming extinct in our modern world.
3. Serpents are considered to be wise because they have been able to flourish even though they are hated by everyone.
4. Serpents are considered to be wise because they evoke fear and respect in human beings.  Human beings do not fear and respect many animals but they fear and respect snakes.
5. Serpents are considered to be wise because of their ability to live in every continent and every part of the world.
6. Serpents are considered to be wise because of their ability to function in every sphere; on land, in the sea, in fresh water and even in the air.
7. Serpents are considered to be wise because of their ability to accomplish their goals in this world.  In spite of all the odds stacked against the snakes, they are able to live, eat and multiply.

Serpents As Masters of Inner Power
1. Serpents have been able to master the power within them. We must learn to master the "power" within us

Mark 7:20-23 KJV
And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. [21] For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, [22] Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: [23] All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

2. Do not let only evil things proceed out of your mouth. Learn to speak on good things and to say good things to others as well.

Philippians 4:6-8 KJV
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. [7] And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. [8] Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Luke 12:3,15 KJV
Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. [15] And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

3. Desire to have the fruits of the spirit within you

Galatians 5:22-23 KJV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, [23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
