Life's storms often feel overwhelming, but they serve a deeper purpose in our spiritual journey. Like Jonah fleeing from God's calling, we sometimes resist the very experiences that God uses to transform us. These difficult seasons can come from various sources - spiritual attacks, our own poor choices, or God's loving intervention to redirect our path. The key is learning to surrender during the storm, not after it passes. When we stop resisting and allow ourselves to be broken before God, something beautiful happens. Like a glow stick that only shines when broken.
