Sermon for the Third Sunday of Easter
By Reverend Shelley McVea
Peter has already preached his first sermon and converted 3,000 people. A beggar asks Peter for money. Peter says he does not have silver or gold, but Peter says he will give what he has to give, and he heals the man in Jesus’ name. A crowd gathers and thousands flock to Peter, and Peter preaches a second sermon. Sometimes a miraculous event is not enough, sometimes we need an explanation. If we want to be Easter People, we need to recognize that we are the beloved children of God. Even when we sin or mess things up, we are still the beloved children of God.
Reverend Shelley McVea was recorded at St. Saviour’s Church, 43 Kimberley Avenue, Toronto. M4E 2Z4.
