What does Wealth represent to you? The 'Wealth' element in Chinese culture also represents the 'Wife' element. Being a traditionally patriarchal society, It was considered auspicious if the 'Wealth/Wife' element supported the husband leading to financial security and abundance. In order for the Wealth element to be of benefit to the husband, the husband had to be mindful and respectful of his wife and therefore his wealth.
