RISE ABOVE WITH RUDY

How to be unstoppable!

Listen Later

Eric LeGrand played defensive tackle for Rutgers.  On October 16, 2010, Eric suffered a severe spinal cord injury during a game against Army. On a kickoff to Army, Eric unintentionally put his head down while running, and ended up driving the crown of his head into the shoulder of the ball carrier, Malcolm Brown. Eric  was credited with the tackle, but he lay on the ground for several minutes before being carried off, unable to move anything but his head and unable to breathe.

But he never let his injury define him or his spirit.  In fact in 2017, Eric was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as the third recipient of the Warrior Award.
