In this Industry 4.0 generation, things are developing very fast at a constant pace. Although there are many online courses that provide guidance on how to become a developer, people are still unaware of many misconceptions in this field. Through 300+ people that I have coached the following are the aspects which I have conducted:

Firstly, you will be definitely wrong if you think that you necessarily need a college degree in order to become a financially successful developer. It is all about field experiences, trial, and errors, and learning from others'. People with a degree tend to follow the exact same ‘textbook’ method over the years without applying any new knowledge into their projects which is not how to become successful at being a developer.

Next, it brings us to the second point which is adaptability. It is the key to success in the new generation. Things are changing fast and you have to adapt yourself to the market, in other words, getting out of your comfort zone and trying creative new ideas in your work. Remember, the trend is your friend.

Lastly, you will also have to adjust to your clients by constantly researching market trends. By doing so, you will have a chance at getting more clients because you thoroughly understand and know what your prospective clients are looking for.
