Today's question comes from listener Tobey:
_I pastor a great small rural church which is an older congregation (but getting younger as God brings new faces). I have done my best to take all that we do to our website, email, Facebook, etc. Well it is not met with glee as most of our members never touch a computer, resist email, and abhor Facebook. I know it is a cultural mindset but is there a way to bring them alongside. They love paper and phone calls and home visits... and oddly enough the multimedia work we do in our services. How do we turn the corner on this challenge?_
I think Tobey is speaking for a lot ministers that I know. Ministers constantly feel the tension between bringing their congregation into the digital world and yet meeting their needs where they’re at. However, this requires a bit of maneuvering since some of church members can resist the change and even fight it.
