How to Build Resilience to Get You Through Difficult Times

In this episode I dive into how to become a  more resilient person.  Here's how the dictionary defines resiliency … the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties.  Now I know there's a lot of resistance about conversations around being able to recover and move on quickly from difficulty.  Because it implies that if you can't do that you are weak. So I want to be clear that processing emotions, taking time to heal, and doing everything that you need to do on your own time does not mean you're weak and it is absolutely okay. 

The message of this podcast episode is not about just getting over things quickly. It's simply about tools and perspectives that you can proactively take before difficulties occur so you can build a resilient state of mind. I love to consider building resilience as proactive coping.  You are putting things in place proactively in order to cope with things in life as they unfold. 

It's not about already being resilient and whether or not you're weak or strong. And it's not about just quickly getting over things. It's about being intentional and proactive.  So if resilience is something that you feel you want to build within yourself this episode is for you.
