How To Build The Perfect Arrow with Brian Barney - Episode 76

Listen Later

The bowhunting world knows Brian Barney. He is consistently hammering critters all over with his bow in hand. He is arguably one of the most passionate bowhunters I know. On top of that he bust his ass with his own business so he can have the time to be able to hunt as much as possible. This past season was a special one for Brian because his youngest daughter was able to hunt and harvest her first deer. That is a memory both of them will have forever. When it comes to bow tuning, Brian is meticulous and wants to have the most forgiving setup possible. We both agreed that the arrow building process plays a huge role in having a forgiving setup and decided to walk through the process. In this episode we cover:

  • Starting point for picking out your arrow from the store
  • Factors that need to be taken into consideration when selecting an arrow
  • The next step after cutting the arrows
  • Weighing components before putting them in the arrow
  • Fletching process, helical, offset, how many fletchings
  • Nock fit and style
