How to Confront Perfectionism as an Entrepreneur

Do you struggle with perfectionism? If so, you’re not alone. Perfectionism is common among many teachers and teacher entrepreneurs. However it is something to be aware of because left unmanaged, it can interfere with your success. In this podcast episode, I’m sharing with you three ways you can avoid perfectionism and take action where your time and attention matter most.

These are things that you should be doing regardless of what stage your business is in.

 

  1. Set Deadlines  - Deadlines can hold you accountable and keep you from overthinking.
  • Set Small Goals - Small goals can keep you from being intimidated by your big goals. They can also give you momentum to tackle your next small goal.
  • Create Boundaries Around How You Consume Inspiration - Inspiration can be helpful but it can also subconsciously feed perfectionism. Get clear on when you’ll stop consuming inspiration so that you can focus on taking action.

    • Action Steps:

     

    1. I want you to think about a goal you have for your business - one that intimidates you. And I want you to map out three small steps to get you there. Pick one of those steps and set a deadline towards that goal.
  • When you meet that small goal - use that momentum to help you reach your next small goal.
  • Then I want you to reach out to me and tell me about your small win so that I can celebrate that with you! It’s important to celebrate those wins - even if they feel small.
