Listen Later

This sermon covers five questions you can ask yourself when faced with a grey area

1. What does God word say about it?2 Timothy 3:16-17 ‘All scripture is God breathed; and is profitable for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. So that the man [or woman] of God would be thoroughly equipped for every good work.’

2. Is it beneficial?1 Cor. 1023 ‘Everything is permissible,’ you say – but not everything is beneficial. ‘I have the right to do anything’– but not everything is constructive.

3. Can I do without it?1 Cor. 6 12 ‘Everything is permissible,’ you say – but not everything is beneficial. ‘I have the right to do anything’– but I will not be mastered by anything.

4. Does it cause others to stumble?Matt 186 ‘If anyone causes one of these little ones – those who believe in me – to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung round their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea

5. Does it glorify God?1 Cor. 10:31 31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
