With the pandemic comes this new way of serving our clients. A lot of personal trainers have already moved their in-person training online. Nothing much has changed except that they went from an actual gym session to Zoom, Skype, and whatever pathway they can deliver the training. It’s just in-person training without the room. Just the same, you are still trading your time for money.
How can you earn more but work less? With the new normal can it actually be possible? You need to understand things so you can deliver your training in the best way possible that best serves your clients and yourself. Here are the important considerations you need to look into to make your training not just any other you see in the online world. Take a look at a hybrid model of training that has a combination of in-person and online programming. Consider nutritional guidance. Fitness and wellness somehow are not complete without talking about nutrition. Take into account mindset and habit building because if you are in for the right reasons, the end goal is to make the client realize his full potential and that you are no longer needed. If you want to stand out from the crowd, see to it that your training service speaks to your audience the value you want them to receive. It’s so easy for them to just watch on YouTube everything you teach in your training. But things are hard to sustain because sometimes boredom strikes. That’s where accountability plays its role. You need someone you can be honest with about yourself and your goals but at the same time allows a relationship that truly does not want to disappoint someone who believes in them and let them share their beliefs. More than anything, don’t undercharge your services. If you are doing something life-changing for people, you are doing something priceless, and it is but just right to put a premium on what you charge your clients.
“When I talk about online training, or when I talk about an online component, I mean something where you're not trading your time for money. In other words, you're actually selling your expertise and the accountability that comes with your program.” - Gavin McHale
