What comes first – your company or the people who work for you and your company? Using a metaphor that Jim Collins uses in his book Good to Great, that's what we are talking about in this episode of CEO Chronicles!
We talk about finding the right people with the right kind of energy and passion and whether or not how much they get paid has anything to do with that. We also agree that the people who work for you are people who you need to be able to trust because if you don't trust them, they're not the right fit for you. The right people working for you also means that they will do their job the same way regardless of whether or not you're present, that you share values, and that you agree on what success means.
