Jon Nastor's Hack the Entrepreneur

How to Find Your Unfair Advantage

Listen Later

My guest today is a musician, programmer, writer, speaker, introvert, and entrepreneur.

My guest started out as a professional musician. Then he wanted a way to sell his own CDs on the internet, but the means to do this didn't exist. So his entrepreneurial spirit took over and he decided to create a website to sell his own music, then his friends music, then his friend's friends were asking, and CD Baby was born.

CD Baby went on to become the largest online seller of independent music and created $100 million in sales for 150,000 musicians. My guest sold the company in 2008 for $22 million and gave the proceeds to a charitable trust for music education.

He has published 34 books, including the Amazon bestseller, Anything You Want. He is also a frequent speaker at the TED Conference and his talks have had over 5 million views.
