We all have times when we don’t feel like doing anything. For some, this chronic problem leads to self-sabotage and unhappiness. But it doesn’t have to be this way. You can improve your life by understanding why you do what you do and then taking steps to change the pattern.


The first step is recognizing that you are capable of more than you think. You must also be honest with yourself about why you’re procrastinating in the first place and address any patterns of self-sabotage and self-loathing. Once you understand where your inner critic comes from, it becomes easier to silence her voice.

Accountability is essential to this process; make sure you have a tribe of people who get it and will help keep you on track. And finally, create nourishment menus for yourself – times when you know you can fully commit to whatever task is at hand without distractions or guilt trips. Celebrate your accomplishments along the way.
