How do you get your staff members to buy into your vision? Blake Maske gives us a glimpse of their relentless company culture and how he instills giving, kindness, and motivation within his own staff.
“We have a relentless work effort right now because our entire company, from top to bottom, can see the vision and can see what we’re doing.” – Blake Maske
Entrenching with the Staff
Blake currently works at Redline Steel as the Plant Operations Officer. He was once a Combat Medic and Instructor at the Alabama Army National Guard. His army and entrepreneurship experiences laid the foundation of his leadership.
“A good Medic takes good care of his soldiers. To do that, you need to know everything about them.” – advice from Blake Maske as a Senior Medic
He found his dream job at Redline Steel where he manages over 30 staff members. He takes pride in being a great leader and in being a part of their staff.
Of Leadership Sacrifices
Blake saw the company’s potential when he signed up with them. Six months later, he found himself in a leadership position. He took accountability of his work and also made sacrifices, running multiple shifts when needed.
“I didn’t want to just see problems, just make them known, and not fix them.” – Blake Maske
If you didn’t get the chance to listen to my interview with his colleague Colin Wayne, Redline Steel manufactures customized steel. They use fiber-grade lasers to cut through 16 plates of steel and create custom designs for almost everything.
Drivers of Company Success
Their work takes many hours a week. Motivation, according to Blake, could only get one as far down the road. The key drivers are discipline and consistency.
Failures are part of the journey. They have failed many times over but they haven’t been scared of failing. They learn from them no matter how big or small it is.
