I often coach leaders for who giving negative feedback is challenging. This is often because they are fearful of how the other person will respond. It could be because they worry about upsetting and hurting the other person, or if the other person has a domineering personality, they are worried about how they will react.
Sometimes cultural issues can be at the root of not doing it, for example where the person giving feedback is much younger than the person they need to give feedback to.
It is important that leaders give their team members regular feedback whether it is good or bad and in this episode, I discuss how you can do this.
