One verse can reset your whole approach to spiritual growth. We sit with 2 Peter 3:18 and its straightforward challenge: “grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” If you’ve been feeling stuck, impatient with yourself, or unsure what “maturity” is supposed to look like, this is a calm, practical reminder that growth is real and it’s meant to be lived day by day.

We unpack what it means to grow in grace, not as a one-time gift we receive, but as a way of life that deepens over time. Grace is God’s kindness, patience, and mercy toward us, and we learn to live it out by staying close to Jesus and letting the Holy Spirit shape our character. That shows up in ordinary moments: choosing patience, practicing forgiveness, and giving others grace even when they don’t “deserve” it.

We also talk about growing in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, which is more than collecting Bible facts. Knowing Jesus is relational: prayer, time in God’s Word, and walking with Him in everyday decisions. And because real Christian discipleship takes time, we lean into a freeing truth: spiritual growth is not about perfection, it’s about direction. If you need a next step, keep it simple, read a verse, pray a short prayer, and trust the process.
