How to Have a GREAT DAY

Listen Later

Today I’m talking about how to make the most of everyday, even Mondays. Here are some simple ways to have a great day.

You are not “inferior” to any other person on this planet. If there is person you feel inferior to? Get it out of your head. They are not luckier than you. Their brain is not smarter than yours. They are not blessed with a human skill set that you can’t develop. Successful people did not get where they are by sheer luck? The difference between winners and losers is simple. Winners keep moving forward no matter what obstacles they face while losers give up at the first real challenge they come up against, they then sit around and complain the game it rigged. You don’t lose until you quit...and quitting is up to you.

Slow down and soak it up. The world will not end if you have to stand in line at the grocery store. Driving like a dumbass to save two minutes makes you and dumbass. Pulling on your dogs leash and asking them to hurry up, is insane, since that dog spends most of its life waiting for you to do something with it. Exercise patience and I think you will be surprised at the world you see around you. Take some time to give yourself a much-needed break from the constant hustle of your daily grind. Take a deep breathe, turn off your inner-static, and take a moment to simply be. Meditation is a fantastic habit to get into. I’m going to talk more about that in another podcast.

View yourself through the eyes of another. Any time there is tension between you and another person, take a moment to look at the issue from their perspective. This simple action will offer a fresh perspective that will help you avoid pointless arguments over nothing.

Be grateful for what is right in front of you. When is the last time you expressed gratitude for all that you have. And the opportunities you have before you. It is easy to take things for granted when we don’t pay attention. I’m happy and grateful that every day is another opportunity to do it again. And I remind myself that I have Water, shelter, food and companionship. The next time you are feeling down, grab a notebook or pull up a Word Document and make a list of the many things that you are grateful for. You might not realize it right this second, but I bet you have a lot of great things going on in your life.
Stay true to your authentic self.Your daily life is not a theatrical performance, so stop treating it like one. Don’t become a character that you think fits in to your current surroundings. Life is not a charade? People are amazing when they are genuine. Share your unique thoughts, ideas, quirks, and personality traits with the world and without any shame.

No one cares how much “stuff” you have. No one is impressed by your bank account, wardrobe, or elegant choice of home decor. Sure, you might get some “oohs” and “ahhs” the instant you show off your stuff, but do you think these people are so impressed that they think any better of you for it? Live with truth and integrity. Show the world you care through your words, actions, and behaviors. The size of your bank account and the style of your outfit impress no one. You know what is impressive? It is someone of beautiful and strong character.

Don’t merely expect more from life. Demand it. While you are complaining about how unfair your situation is, other people are hustling hard in the direction they desire. Wishing with all of your might will do nothing to improve your life if you’re not willing to back up your words with action.

The things that are most challenging are often the things that prove to be most rewarding. Just because something is difficult doesn’t mean it isn’t worth doing. Raising a child is harder than any job I know, but it also comes with an incredible amount of satisfaction. Seeing a baby grow up to become a passionate and productive adult is amazing. Any ambitious goal that requires a lot of time or...
