How To Have More Energy

Do you ever have those days, or maybe even weeks, where you just can't seem to get it going. Like you just don't have the energy to do not only do the things you need to do, but even the things you want to do because you're too tired. Believe me I have been there, stuck in a funk where all I want to do is lay in bed. In today's episode I am sharing my tips on how I get my energy back.

In today's episode I discuss:

  • Never skip breakfast, skipping breakfast messes with your blood sugar and can lead to insulin resistence so fuel your body with carbohydrates for long lasting energy and protein to keep you full
  • Eat smaller meals, we all know that feeling where you eat too much and feel like you're going to slip into a food coma. Instead eat smaller meals and then if you are still hungry it's okay to grab a snack
  • Get your vitamin levels tested, anemia, magnesium defecency, low vitamin D all can cause fatigue so if you've been cronically tired there may be an underlying cause so check with your doctor
  • Exercise, I know it's a lame answer but it's SO TRUE. It doesn't matter what kind of exercise but i promise you will feel more energized after a quick walk or a good sweat sesh
  • Get plenty of sleep, obviously. You need 7-9 hours of sleep a night so give yourself a bedtime and prioritize your sleep, you will thank yourself
  • Work on mindfulness, do you ever have those days where you physically didn't do anything but because you were stressed, anxious or depressed you still feel drained and tired? Work on mindfulness and your mental health so you can focus your energy on achieving your goals

Our energy is a precious commodity, I miss the days when I felt like I had so much of it but by implementing these habits I am so much more productive, fun and energetic.
