There’s something about growing old in the Lord and gaining wisdom. Life is best understood looking back in the rear view mirror. Psalm 37 is a Psalm that was written by David when he was an old man. He’s looking back and writing this song based on the faithfulness and mercy of God.
He addresses a problem that has plagued the people of God since the dawn of time. “Why do the wicked seem to prosper while the righteous suffer?”
Whether we will admit it or not, it is also a problem with which we’ve wrestled with from time to time. Sometimes, it almost seems like God favors to bless the wicked and cause suffering for the righteous.
Psalm 37 helps us to process this question and to gain a proper perspective.
